Boys Start NLC Season with Strong Showing The boys team opened Northern Lakes Conference action on the road at NorthWood, taking on the host Panthers and Northridge Raiders. The Pilgrims came away with a hard-earned 71–61 win over NorthWood and battled valiantly in a 39.5–92.5 loss to Northridge, one of the conference’s perennial powerhouses. Leading the charge was Cole Figg, who delivered one of the best nights of his career—sweeping both hurdle events and setting lifetime personal records in the process. Hunter Shipley turned heads in the 400 meters with a blistering time of 51.24 seconds, cementing himself as one of the top quarter-milers in the area. With key sprinter Carter Bush sidelined, Jaden Yates stepped into a bigger role, collecting vital points in multiple events and helping steady the Pilgrims’ lineup. Meanwhile, Freddy Kallenberg produced one of the night’s most jaw-dropping efforts, dropping 24 seconds off his personal best in the 3200 meters with a gutsy, tactical race. In the field, Leo Sickmiller broke new ground in the shot put, surpassing the 40-foot barrier for the first time in his career. ⸻ Lady Pilgrims Capture Title at Carmen Cripe Relays Just two days later, the Lady Pilgrims stole the spotlight with a championship performance at the Carmen Cripe Relays in Middlebury. In a meet that came down to the wire, Plymouth edged out host Northridge 63–61 to secure the team title, marking one of the program’s most memorable wins in recent seasons. The day was filled with top-tier individual and relay performances. Jersey Hunter led the charge in the 100m hurdles, claiming 1st place, while teammate Eva Macey took 3rd. Vivy Miller continued her steady form with a runner-up finish in the 1600 meters, and Lena Jones added valuable team points with a 9th-place run. But the defining moment came in the 4x200 meter relay, where the quartet of Yuli Contreras, Jersey Hunter, Arielle Ferman, and Eva Macey blazed to 1st place and a new school record, a defining moment that helped push the Lady Pilgrims to the top of the leaderboard. Other highlights included: • A 4th-place finish in the 4x100m relay • 5th in the 4x400m relay • Solid field event scoring in the high jump, long jump, shot put, and discus • Strong performances from Ava Lloyd, Joy Everett, and Sue Everett in the jumps, and a consistent effort across the throws from Marissa Kmiatek, Daisy Van Meter, and Lexie Myers Even with a smaller roster in several events, the Lady Pilgrims showed remarkable depth, teamwork, and competitive fire
